What is love?
Just an emotion, or something much more?
What is mind?
Just what we think with, or something much more?
Can Love Speak Mind to Mind?
Link Even With Animal Minds?
To Rick, a dedicated, non-violent liberationist, there is no question that love is a powerful and mystical force. It enables him to communicate with animals, something he believes anyone can do. And why not? After all, science has proven the interconnectedness of everything on Earth. This ability then, to link into animal minds, which he calls Mindstuff, is just a natural result of that mysterious unity of all things.
When he encounters Maggie, a savage watch-dog, in unusual circumstances, he communicates easily with her. She also bonds instantly with him, obviously receiving and returning the mind messages of love he sends her. However, the aloof and resistant Cassie, who is minding Maggie for a neighbour, is a different matter. She cannot accept Rick’s beliefs and continues to have a hostile relationship with the vicious animal that would happily tear her to pieces.
Rick suffers serious injuries after being badly beaten up by a street gang and needs nursing to recover. Under attack from the violent gang and beset by difficult family relationships amongst other problems, Cassie, Rick and Maggie find themselves isolated in a vacant house for four fateful days.
During this time, in their own ways, they all have to come to terms with new emotions, new attitudes, and the revelations of long-hidden family secrets, all of which will change their lives for ever.
With Love in Mind explores not only the inexplicable power of love, but other mysteries of life and the universe as well.
