He's a baby boomer, born just after the Second World War in Melbourne, Australia. Being born to a Kiwi father and an Aussie mother gives him trans-Tasman blood from 'across the ditch', as the Kiwis affectionately call the Tasman.
At a very young age he realised that he had an innate knowledge of where he had come from prior to birth and also what he was capable of even before his parents had begun to instruct him in 'the ways of the world'. Alan knew of his energy before the words 'energy' and 'energetic' became fashionable.
With interest he now recalls times from his earliest memories when he could channel that energy through his body, bringing about unusual physical results.
For example, he had bursts of strength, could do vertical leaps and could focus energy onto objects such as balls, which then gathered extra velocity while in flight. It was later incidents, though, in particular some that took place while he was playing sport, that made him realise great things could be achieved not only by him, but by anyone. This fascinated him the most, and continues to right up to this day.
Alan has played, then coached and trained sport to a professional level and still continues to train and treat athletes from a variety of disciplines, right up to world level.
Owing to a failed marriage and the resulting heartbreak, Alan moved to the country and vigorously practised meditation daily for 20 years to finally heal his 'wounds'. He met, and married, the love of his life, wife Deb. Together they established a thriving Mind-Body fitness retreat at their country property, and everything seemed to have settled. Not to be. He realised that he and his wife needed and were ready to come back to city life so that Deb could pursue her potential and Alan could pass on what he'd realised to others who were ready like he had been.
Now both are firmly established together back in city life realising that it's not the beautiful location that makes you happy but rather your mind. Alan continues to train and treat elite athletes, but also people just like you and me. Clients come from all over the state, interstate and even internationally to meet and be instructed by Alan for a wide variety of reasons, from stubborn old physical problems right through to life-threatening illnesses. He says, 'We all need to pursue that which electrifies us with joy, and when we have done that we have found our reason for living'.
Alan Close, in conjunction with 'Hoo', is now an author to this first book of a series that will follow, so that you too can pursue your potential in all areas of your life.
