J. R. Mitchell
J.R. Mitchell was born on the Tweed River and grew up in Murwillumbah, Northern New South Wales. After marrying young and raising a family of six children, Joanne decided it was time to build a career for herself. She attended the University of Queensland and undertook studies towards a Bachelor Degree in business management and marketing.
Upon completion of her studies, Joanne joined Australia Post in the role of Corporate Account Manager for Queensland, Sunshine Coast to Rockhampton region. After 5 years in this role she left to establish her own specialised marketing company, based on the Sunshine Coast. After successfully growing this business she sold it, in order to devote her time to her life-long passion of being a full-time author and in 2007 completed the first book of The Immortals trilogy.
In 2009 the third and final book of The Immortals trilogy was published. Joanne already has detailed outlines for stories for another two trilogy series in the pipeline. Children who have grown up developing a love for children's fantasy books, courtesy of J.K. Rowlings, can now move on and continue their enjoyment of this genre thanks to the adult fantasy writings of J.R. Mitchell.
