Timothy Rayner
Timothy Rayner (PhD) is a writer, philosopher, and public speaker. He is passionate about transformative solutions to wicked problems. Timothy grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, with formative stints in Indonesia and the UK. In 1999, he moved to Sydney, Australia, to do a PhD in philosophy. He has published academic papers and a book, Foucault’s Heidegger: Philosophy and Transformative Experience (Continuum UK, 2007).
Timothy is the writer of the short film Coalition of the Willing (2010). Coalition of the Willing is an animated film, directed by Simon Robson and completed by a global network of artists, about an open source approach to the war on global warming. Coalition of the Willing won the Best Short Film at the 2012 San Francisco Green Film Festival, Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 Hampton International Film Festival, and the Waverley Award for Best Environmental Short Film at 2011 Sydney FlickerFest.
Timothy is currently developing material for a new book on philosophy and social media.
