Surviving Doggie Skool is an easy to read, light-hearted and often amusing account of a class of 12 people and their dogs who enrol in a basic obedience course. With an abundance of characters – both two and four legged – we follow the class as they learn about themselves and their dogs.
Both informative and entertaining, the book covers a range of subjects like natural diet and feeding, dog’s senses and de-sexing while helping to dispel many of the myths of dog training and ownership.
A welcome addition to any book lover’s library or anyone interested in reading about man’s best friend and some of the antics they get up to.

... an excellent read Review by Ralph Banks
Star rating On reading Brian Collecott’s latest book “Surviving Doggie Skool” many memories come flooding back of the happy times we had as a group progressing from Basic to Advanced to Masters Obedience Classes. Then on to Agility and Tracking. As well as our receiving firm but fair and easy to understand instructions on how to train our dogs these were most enjoyable social occasions for both dogs and owners.
I would like to heartily endorse Brian’s portrayal of the fun side of training and can recommend “Surviving Doggie Skool” as an excellent read.

... I was chuckling at the antics of both dogs and owners – what characters! Review by Vicki Webster
Star rating “Before I was even through the first chapter, I was chuckling at the antics of both dogs and owners – what characters! But as I read on, I become more and more aware of how we are loving, indulgent and “naughty” dog owners. Worthwhile and entertaining read, with more than a few useful tips.

... humorous trip down memory lane ... Review by Deb Foale
Star rating “Brian Collecott’s new book “Surviving Doggie Skool” is a humorous trip down memory lane, and as I read I relived the training courses that I have done with my dogs over the years. I’m sure that everyone will see a bit of themselves, and their dogs, as they follow this particular group of people and their dogs on their journey of learning and achievement. For both handlers and dogs! A great read, with valuable advice thrown in, and a wonderful opportunity to experience a training course from the trainer’s perspective!
