Bit of A Super Hero: Choosing the Challenge - My Journey with Cancer
There is a saying: When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
Janet Shaw is a remarkable woman.
Many times throughout her life, she has drawn on her determination and inner strength to change the way she has looked at things.
In Janet Shaw’s first memoir, Beyond the Red Door, her opening line was: “In some ways, it’s probably a lucky thing that I was born with cancer.” She considered it lucky, because she had no memory of that time of her life. But when retinoblastoma, the rare genetic eye cancer she was born with, triggered breast cancer and a rare sarcoma in her adult life, Janet was forced to face a challenge that she thought she’d never manage.
This inspiring account of Janet’s ongoing journey with cancer is told with honesty, humour, insight and sensitivity.
It is a heartwarming and heartbreaking story told by a truly inspirational Bit of a Super Hero.

Being blind and having cancer doesn't mean you can't live life. Review by writer2050
Star rating A riveting book that was hard to put down. One woman's journey with cancer with its highs and lows. Chemotherapy is shown at its worst but the bucket list is uplifting as are Janet's friends who help her share what they see. A truly motivational book from a high achiever, warts and all.
